Hummingbird Masks

What a joy to carve these lovely creatures. They bring happiness to everyone’s hearts, buzzing around, surprising us with their acrobatics, adding iridescent colours to our lives. More photos of the carving, weaving and completion of the series.

Below, I have posted a few photos of the progress as well as the final collection of masks. A family of four Anna’s hummingbirds and a single female Anna’s fledgling. Presently, I am working on completing an articulated hummingbird mask, where the beak opens and the minuscule tongue flicks out!
